Er du nysgerrig på at lære mere om alger, og hvordan de kan forvandles til nye materialer? Så kom til algeworkshop på Munkeruphus.
Julia Lohmann og Alberte Holmø Bojesen står bag et af de mest markante værker i udstillingen AF NATUR ER DET KOMMET. I denne workshop inviterer de to kunstnere os med på stranden, ud i vandet og ind i et univers, hvor alger kan blive til de mest fantastiske materialer.
Vi starter dagen med en introduktion til algernes rolle i vores nordiske økosystem. Herefter går vi ned til stranden, hvor vi undersøger den lokale algebestand. Tilbage igen nyder vi en lille algesnack, inden vi smøger ærmerne op og arbejder med algens materialitet.
Du vil lære at fremstille materialer af tang og få indblik i, hvordan forskellige alger giver forskellige strukturer, overflader og farver.
Alle er velkomne. Medbring godt humør samt praktisk tøj og gode sko, der passer til vejret.
OBS: Workshoppen foregår primært på engelsk.

/Curious to discover more about algae and their potential as future materials? Join us for a seaweed workshop at Munkeruphus.
Julia Lohmann and Alberte Holmø Bojesen have created one of the most distinctive works in the exhibition NATURE TO NATURE. For this workshop, the two artists invite participants to the shoreline and into the water to explore a new world of materials in which algae can be transformed into extraordinary new materials.
The day begins with an introduction to the role of algae within Nordic ecosystems. We will then walk down to the beach to study the local seaweed and algae found along the coast. Back at Munkeruphus, we will enjoy a small seaweed-based snack before working hands-on with algae as a material.
Participants will learn how to create materials from seaweed and gain insight into how different species produce different textures, surfaces, colours, and material properties.
The workshop is open to everyone. Please bring practical clothing, suitable footwear, and curiosity for a day of hands-on exploration by the sea.
